How does it work?

The WIWA association works with the waste management association, municipalities, federal states, producers and retailers of cloth diapers in Austria so that you receive this starting bonus and we all contribute a financial part.

You can get a cloth diaper package to start diapering from approximately €230. If you add accessories or perhaps order night diapers or newborn diapers, you will reach the large voucher amount. (Vienna and the state of Styria excluded) Because the minimum amount in most cases is €250 (can vary regionally), which you must spend on cloth diapers to redeem the diaper voucher.

To ensure a certain standard, however, not all cloth diapers are subsidized. The WIWA association checks whether:

  •     the diapers are produced sustainably
  •     working conditions in manufacturing are good
  •     the quality of the diapers meets the association's standards

And after successful testing, we at Lumina are also included

Where can the voucher be obtained?

Unfortunately, not all of Austria is subsidized. However, the following federal states are currently almost comprehensively included:

Vienna / Lower Austria / Upper Austria / Salzburg / Burgenland / Styria

Please note:

Only after a successful order, please send me your diaper voucher by post. The vouchers are processed once a month and sent to the WIWA association. After receiving the money from the association, your money will be refunded to your payment method from the shop. So, allow some time until your amount is repaid.

Only LUMINA products are eligible for diaper vouchers!! Exception - feminine hygiene products, these are not eligible for vouchers.

10% of the diaper voucher value may be accessories, 90% must be diapers and inserts!!

Funding from the State of Carinthia

Carinthia has come up with something different, as this federal state promotes all over and through the state itself.

And this is how it works:

  • You buy cloth diapers, regardless of the brand, from a shop in Austria. Whether it's a physical store or an online shop
  • You fill out the applications, which you can download here, and send them to the responsible authority
  • Then, after the processing time, you will receive up to a maximum of €100 back from the state

A few important things about the subsidy

  • The person submitting the application must match the account holder (otherwise no transfer will be made)
  • The cloth diapers must be purchased in Austria and new or with an invoice from an official dealer
  • The cloth diapers can be purchased from 2020 onwards
  • The invoice amount does not matter - for € 80.- you get this back, for € 150.- you get the maximum of €100.- back
  • The subsidy can be claimed once per child

Please note - you always need the form for your child's year of birth or the year of purchase of the cloth diapers. Please send the completed form with the invoice by email to the responsible authority.
