Pants diapers - high volume-easy to use

Our Lumina snap-in diapers offer particularly high absorbency and a secure, comfortable fit – ideal for longer changing intervals, nighttime, or heavy wetters. The fully absorbent cloth diaper is combined with a waterproof cover and can be further reinforced with inserts or boosters if required.

Pull-up diapers for reliable day and night protection

Fitted diapers are among the most absorbent cloth diaper systems. With these, not just a single insert, but the entire diaper body is absorbent. This allows moisture to be absorbed over a large area. A matching waterproof cover is always worn over the fitted diaper, serving as additional moisture protection.

What is the difference between day and night fitted diapers?

Day Fitted Diaper

The day fitted diaper has slightly less absorbency than the night version and therefore creates less bulk under clothing. It is ideal for normal daytime diaper changes, naps, or on the go. If needed, its absorbency can be increased with an additional absorbent insert or a booster.

The day fitted diaper is particularly practical during breastfeeding: since the entire diaper body is absorbent and the fitted diaper is enclosed by a cover, it is very suitable for liquid breastfed stools. The dual system of absorbent fitted diaper and protective cover can help to contain stool more securely.

Night Fitted Diaper

The night fitted diaper offers higher absorbency and was specially developed for long diapering intervals. It is ideal for nighttime, longer sleep phases, and children with particularly high absorbency needs. Due to its larger absorption volume, it is slightly bulkier than the day diaper, but in return, it offers reliable protection for longer. For heavy wetters, it can be further reinforced with a booster.

Which pull-up diaper is right for my child?

The daytime fitted diaper is the right choice if you're looking for an absorbent yet somewhat slimmer cloth diaper for everyday use. It's also particularly well-suited for breastfed babies with liquid stools. We recommend the nighttime fitted diaper if your child sleeps for long periods at night, urinates a lot, or requires particularly high absorbency.

Our one-size fitted diapers are grow-with-me and can be adjusted to your child's size by folding over the snap row. When changing the diaper, the entire fitted diaper is replaced. The diaper cover can be reused as long as it remains clean and dry.

Developed with love and expertise

I am Andrea and have been a passionate cloth diaper consultant since 2020. Since 2019, I have been able to diaper our son with cloth diapers and have shared this passion with my best friend. Not only was waste reduction important to us, but also the health of our children. All of this motivated me to create something that works for everyone.

Through this friendship, I had the opportunity to test various brands and systems, which led to the creation of the LUMINA brand. I combined the best of the cloth diaper world and various brands to develop our diapers. With the support of customers and testers, our product range was then created.

It has always been important to me to be able to offer the right product for every family's needs, at affordable prices and with the highest quality standards.

FAQ

Which fit/leg cuffs are right for my baby?

Simple Leg Gussets:

  • suitable for babies from approx. 5kg
  • perfect for babies with chubbier legs
  • from a certain size, however, the cut fits every child (universal cut)

Are you unsure which leg gusset is right for your needs? Then we always recommend the simple leg gusset, because it might fit your baby a little later, but then it will fit perfectly.

Double Leg Gussets:

  • perfect for very slender babies and premature babies
  • for slender legs, these wraps close better in the crotch, ensuring a more ideal, slimmer fit and a smaller diaper bottom

This is how your diaper fits perfectly on your child:

  • A one-size wrap fits perfectly when it sits on the hips
  • from the side, the diaper is at the same height on the back and stomach
  • The belly button is visible
  • On the stomach, you can leave 2 finger-widths of space, then it is comfortable
  • Only the combination of the adjustment in the crotch with that on the stomach creates the perfect fit
  • Once you have found the right setting, it usually lasts for several months
  • Combine several inserts or materials for sufficient volume, so your diaper is guaranteed to be leak-proof
  • A wrap can be used for a whole day, unless it is soiled

How do you properly wash cloth diapers?

1. How often should I wash cloth diapers?

Cloth diapers should be washed at least every 2-4 days to prevent unpleasant odors and maintain the quality of the diapers.

2. How do I prepare cloth diapers for washing?

Remove all solid residues (e.g., by rinsing or shaking off) before storage. For diapers with inserts, you should remove the inserts from the diaper if possible.

For stool residues, it is advisable to rinse with cold water to minimize odors, but note that these diapers must be stored in a separate wet bag or dried beforehand to prevent mold growth. Excessively wet inserts or diapers should also be dried before storage to prevent liquid from forming in the wet bag.

3. At what temperature should I wash cloth diapers?

Cloth diapers should normally be washed at 40 to 60 degrees Celsius, depending on the manufacturer's instructions. At 60 degrees, bacteria and germs are better removed, but you should observe the care instructions for the diapers to avoid shortening their lifespan. PUL covers should always be washed at 40 degrees to significantly increase their lifespan, and ideally with colored laundry and the appropriate detergent.

4. Can I use fabric softener?

Fabric softener must be avoided as it can impair the absorbency of cloth diapers. Instead, you can use a special detergent for cloth diapers that leaves no residue and is gentle on the materials. You can, of course, find this in our Ulrich natürlich shop.

Detergent should always meet the following criteria: - less than 15% soap content, even better under 5% - no chemical bleaches - no artificial fragrances - no preservatives or dyes

5. How can I remove stains from cloth diapers?

Stains can be removed by sun (UV light) or a special stain remover for cloth diapers, which you can find from Ulrich natürlich in our shop. Another method is to pre-treat the stains on the diapers with curd soap and then wash them in the washing machine to remove stains. (always just before washing)

6. Should I wash my cloth diapers before first use?

Yes, we recommend washing cloth diapers before first use. This helps to increase absorbency and remove any residues from production. Cloth diapers reach their full absorbency after about 8-10 washes.

7. Can I dry cloth diapers in a dryer?

No, please don't. Even if some products state it's possible and the dryer dries at a low temperature and on a gentle cycle, frequent tumble drying can permanently damage the material and remove the absorbent material, as dryers de-lint (you'll notice it in the lint filter). Air drying is definitely the better choice; hang the diapers on a clothesline.

8. How can I avoid unpleasant odors?

To avoid unpleasant odors, diapers should be washed regularly with the correct washing routine and dried properly. The storage system (such as a wet bag) should be well ventilated, and it is helpful to store diapers in a clean, dry room.

9. How do I wash properly?

  • Simply put your diapers in the washing machine drum with our self-emptying wet bag, after opening both zippers.
  • First, select a short program like "Pre-rinse" or "Rinse and spin."
  • After this program, the coarse impurities are already out of your machine; now select a suitable full wash program and add more water + programs (pre-rinse, post-rinse, etc.).
  • Spin speed max. 1200
  • Observe detergent dosage (please pay attention to our recommended detergent - Ulrich natürlich Diaper Detergent to ensure long durability).
  • For heavily calciferous water, we strongly recommend adding a descaler such as the lactic acid descaler from Ulrich natürlich (protects your materials and your machine).
  • You can also add other laundry that you want to wash at the selected temperature; the machine should be well and efficiently filled.
  • Start the washing program.

What happens to the poop in the diaper?

With breast milk stool, nothing needs to be done, as it is water-soluble and odor-neutral and can be washed out with the appropriate washing routine.

For solid food or formula stool, simply use our diaper liner and dispose of the solids in the trash or toilet. If any solids have gotten on the insert, please remove them before washing.

What to do with new diapers?

It's best to wash your new cloth diapers once at 40°C, using a cloth diaper-friendly detergent like Ulrich natural!

Your absorbent materials need about 8-10 washes to reach their full absorbency.
