Experiencing Sustainability: Our Impressions from the Austrian World Summit 2026

Inspiration, Innovation, and a Shared Vision for a More Sustainable Future

At Lumina, we ask ourselves one question every day:

How can we help families live more sustainably without making everyday life more complicated?

That's why it was such a special experience for us to attend the Austrian World Summit 2026, Arnold Schwarzenegger's international climate conference in Vienna.

We were very pleased to receive a free ticket for this extraordinary event. Only a limited number of people get the chance to attend live each year. We were all the more grateful to be part of this inspiring day.

We not only got to meet distinguished figures from Austrian politics, but of course we also met Arnold Schwarzenegger in person (a youth idol of ours) as well as Kamala Harris, and we were able to watch the Pope via video message and sing along with LEMO as a musical act with loud and false enthusiasm. It was moving, inspiring, and fascinating all at once. Many emotions in one day.

Sustainability begins with the journey

For us, it was immediately clear that we would stay true to our values even when travelling.

That's why we consciously chose to travel by train. For us, sustainability doesn't end with selling cloth diapers. It guides many everyday decisions, and precisely these many small decisions together make a big difference.

An afternoon full of ideas and solutions

What particularly inspired us: The Austrian World Summit doesn't just talk about challenges, but above all about solutions.

In the afternoon, we experienced inspiring lectures from people who are working worldwide towards a more sustainable future. It became clear that innovation and climate protection can go hand in hand.

We found the examples from the following areas particularly exciting:

• innovative energy and storage solutions
• climate-friendly technologies for businesses
• resource-saving production
• circular economy and reuse
• international cooperation for greater climate protection
• start-ups and companies that are already making big changes with new ideas today

The speakers made one thing very clear:

Sustainability does not mean sacrifice. Sustainability means innovation.

This very idea particularly inspired us.

Why this event touched us so deeply

Many of the projects presented started with a simple idea.

Someone asked themselves the question:

"Can't this be done better?"

This is precisely the question we have been asking ourselves again and again since Lumina was founded.

Can diapering be more sustainable?

Can families save money?

Can waste be avoided without sacrificing comfort?

Can sustainability be suitable for everyday use?

Our answer to this is modern cloth diapers, reusable swim diapers, the diaper skirt and many other products that accompany families day after day.

Many small steps together add up to something great

Of course, a single cloth diaper won't change the world.

But thousands of families together can.

Every child diapered with cloth diapers can save several thousand disposable diapers over their diapering period. This means less waste, lower resource consumption, and often significant cost savings for families.

This is precisely what the Austrian World Summit is about:

Not waiting for others to make a change, but becoming part of the solution yourself.

Back home with renewed motivation

We returned home with many new ideas, inspiring conversations, and a large dose of motivation.

It was wonderful to see how many people worldwide are working daily to make our future more sustainable.

We are taking this motivation with us into our daily work.

We will continue to develop and offer products that make it as easy as possible for families to embark on a more sustainable everyday life.

Because we firmly believe:

Every decision counts. Every small step counts. And together, we can achieve a lot.
